Accelerating Cloud Development: How AWS DevOps is Revolutionizing Software Delivery in 2024
In 2024, businesses are operating in an era where software delivery needs to be faster, more reliable, and more scalable than ever before. The rise of cloud computing has been central to this transformation, and AWS (Amazon Web Services) DevOps has become a key enabler of these advancements. By combining the power of cloud infrastructure with the agility of DevOps practices, AWS DevOps is revolutionizing how organizations develop, deploy, and manage applications.
What is AWS DevOps?
AWS DevOps refers to the combination of AWS’s cloud computing services and DevOps practices to facilitate faster, more efficient software development and deployment. DevOps is a set of practices that automates and integrates the processes between software development and IT operations teams, enabling them to build, test, and release software more quickly and reliably.
AWS offers a wide range of tools and services that support DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure as code (IaC), monitoring, and logging. AWS DevOps helps businesses of all sizes adopt cloud-native technologies and streamline their software development lifecycle (SDLC) to meet the demands of the modern digital landscape.
How AWS DevOps is Revolutionizing Software Delivery in 2024
Accelerating Time-to-Market
In today’s competitive landscape, the ability to deliver new features and updates quickly is crucial for business success. AWS DevOps automates various stages of the SDLC, from code development to deployment, reducing the time it takes to release new software. With AWS services like CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, and CodeBuild, development teams can automate their CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that code is automatically tested and deployed as soon as it’s ready. This eliminates manual steps and accelerates time-to-market, allowing businesses to respond to market demands faster.
Scalability and Flexibility
AWS’s cloud infrastructure provides unparalleled scalability, allowing businesses to scale their applications up or down based on demand. When combined with DevOps practices, AWS enables organizations to dynamically adjust resources, optimize performance, and minimize costs. For example, AWS Elastic Beanstalk automatically handles the deployment, load balancing, scaling, and monitoring of applications, freeing development teams to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure management. This scalability makes AWS DevOps a powerful tool for both startups and large enterprises.
Enhanced Security and Compliance
Security is a top priority in cloud development, and AWS DevOps helps organizations integrate security into every stage of the SDLC. AWS provides a suite of security tools, such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Shield, and AWS Key Management Service (KMS), which enable teams to enforce security best practices and meet compliance requirements. By incorporating DevSecOps principles, AWS DevOps ensures that security checks are automated and embedded into the CI/CD pipeline, helping organizations identify vulnerabilities early and prevent security breaches.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is a core principle of DevOps, and AWS DevOps takes IaC to the next level with services like AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit). IaC allows developers to define, provision, and manage infrastructure using code, ensuring consistency and reducing human error. With AWS CloudFormation, teams can create and deploy cloud resources using templates, while AWS CDK provides a higher-level abstraction for defining infrastructure in familiar programming languages. This approach allows for automated, repeatable infrastructure deployments, leading to more reliable and efficient operations.
Monitoring and Logging
Monitoring and logging are essential for maintaining the health and performance of applications in the cloud. AWS DevOps offers powerful monitoring tools, such as Amazon CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray, which provide real-time insights into application performance, resource utilization, and system health. These tools enable teams to detect and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime and ensuring a seamless user experience. Automated alerts and dashboards help operations teams stay on top of system performance, while logging services like AWS CloudTrail provide detailed audit logs for security and compliance purposes.
Cost Optimization
Cost efficiency is a critical factor in cloud development, and AWS DevOps enables organizations to optimize their cloud spending. By automating resource provisioning and scaling, AWS DevOps helps businesses ensure that they are only using the resources they need, reducing waste and lowering operational costs. Tools like AWS Cost Explorer and AWS Trusted Advisor provide insights into resource utilization and offer recommendations for optimizing costs. Additionally, the pay-as-you-go pricing model of AWS allows businesses to align their expenses with their actual usage, further enhancing cost efficiency.
Collaborative Development Environment
AWS DevOps fosters a collaborative environment between development and operations teams, breaking down silos and enabling continuous collaboration throughout the SDLC. With services like AWS CodeCommit and AWS CodeStar, teams can work together on code repositories, manage projects, and track progress in real-time. This collaborative approach ensures that everyone is aligned, reducing bottlenecks and improving overall productivity. By integrating with popular DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Slack, AWS DevOps creates a seamless development workflow that encourages communication and collaboration.
Real-World Applications of AWS DevOps
AWS DevOps is being adopted by organizations across various industries to drive digital transformation. For example:
E-commerce platforms are using AWS DevOps to continuously deliver new features and updates, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers.
Healthcare providers are leveraging AWS DevOps to manage sensitive patient data securely while delivering high-performance telemedicine applications.
Financial services companies are using AWS DevOps to build scalable, secure, and compliant applications that meet regulatory requirements.
These real-world applications highlight the versatility and power of AWS DevOps in driving innovation and operational excellence.

Continuous Integration And Continuous Delivery (CI/CD): Streamlining Your Development Pipeline
Welcome to the world of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), where software development becomes a well-oiled machine, smoothly transforming ideas into reality. In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, staying ahead requires agility and efficiency in product delivery. That’s why understanding CI/CD is crucial for any developer or organization looking to streamline their development pipeline and revolutionize their workflow.
So buckle up as we embark on an exploration of this powerful methodology that promises shorter release cycles, increased collaboration, and endless possibilities for innovation. Get ready to witness how CI/CD can propel your software development process to new heights!
-WHAT IS CONTINUOUS INTEGRATION AND CONTINUOUS DELIVERY (CI/CD)?
Continuous Integration (CI) is a development practice that requires developers to integrate code into a shared repository several times a day. Each check-in is then verified by an automated build, allowing teams to detect problems early. Continuous Delivery (CD) takes CI one step further by automating the release process, making it easier and faster for changes to be deployed to production.
Both CI and CD are important DevOps practices that can help streamline your development pipeline and improve your overall application quality.
-WHY USE CI/CD PIPELINES?
The value of using CI/CD pipelines is that they provide a streamlined process for development teams to continuously integrate and deliver code changes. By automating the build, test, and deployment process, teams can release new features and bug fixes faster and more efficiently. Additionally, CI/CD pipelines help ensure that all code changes are properly tested before being deployed to production, which helps reduce the risk of application downtime or bugs.
-ADVANTAGES OF CI/CD
There are many advantages of using CI/CD to streamline your development pipeline. By automating the build, test, and deploy process, you can shorten the overall feedback loop and get new features and fixes to your customers faster. Additionally, using CI/CD can help improve code quality by automatically identifying errors and potential issues early on in the development process. By automating the deployments, you can remove the potential for human error and ensure that all releases are consistent.
-TYPES OF CI/CD PIPELINES
There are three main types of CI/CD pipelines: linear,forked, and hybrid.
Linear pipelines are the simplest to set up and are well suited for small projects with a single repository. In a linear pipeline, there is one sequence of steps that all changes must go through before being deployed. This gives you greater control over your release process, but can be slow if you have a lot of commits waiting in the queue.
Forked pipelines are more complex, but offer greater flexibility and scalability. In a forked pipeline, branches are created for each commit, and each branch goes through its own sequence of steps before being merged back into the main branch. This allows you to deploy changes faster, as you can parallelize the work across multiple branches.
Hybrid pipelines combine aspects of both linear and forked pipelines. In a hybrid pipeline, you can create multiple sequences of steps (called ‘stages’), and changes can be deployed to different stages at different rates. This gives you the benefits of both approaches: the flexibility of forked pipelines, with the control of linear pipelines.
-HOW TO SET UP A CI/CD PIPELINE
Assuming you have a codebase and a remote repository set up for your project, you will need to do the following in order to set up a CI/CD pipeline:
1. Choose a CI/CD tool. Some popular options are Jenkins, TravisCI, and CircleCI. 2. Set up your chosen CI/CD tool on your development machine as well as in your remote repository. 3. Configure your CI/CD tool according to your needs for this project. This will include specifying the build steps, testing approach, and deployment methodologies. 4. Add necessary plugins or scripts to your codebase in order to trigger the CI/CD pipeline when commits are made or new branches are created. 5. Test everything out by making some code changes and pushing them through the pipeline!
-BEST PRACTICES FOR SETTING UP A CI/CD PIPELINE
Setting up a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline can help streamline your development process and save you time and money. Here are some best practices for setting up a CI/CD pipeline:
1. Define your workflow.
Before you can set up a CI/CD pipeline, you need to define your workflow. What steps do you need to take in order to get from code changes to a deployed application? Once you have defined your workflow, you can start setting up your CI/CD pipeline.
2. Set up a build server.
A build server is where your code changes will be built and tested before they are deployed to production. You will need to set up a build server that meets the requirements of your workflow. There are many different options for build servers, so choose one that fits your needs.
3. Configure your builds.
Once you have set up your build server, you will need to configure your builds. Build configuration includes specifying what tests should be run, what environment variables should be set, and how the application should be packaged for deployment. Be sure to document your build configurations so that they can be easily replicated in the future.
4. Set up Continuous Integration (CI).
Continuous Integration is the process of automatically building and testing code changes as they are made. This ensures that code changes do not break the application and catch errors early on in the development process. Many CI tools exist, so choose one that best fits your needs.
5. Set up Continuous Delivery (CD).
Continuous Delivery is the process of automatically deploying code changes to production. This ensures that code changes are tested and deployed quickly, providing faster feedback to developers and reducing downtime for users. CD tools also provide features such as rollbacks in case a deployment fails. Again, many CD tools exist, so choose one that best fits your needs.
6. Monitor your pipeline.
Once your CI/CD pipeline has been set up, you should monitor it regularly to ensure that it is running smoothly and efficiently. Monitor build times, test success rates, and deployment successes to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
-TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES USED IN CI/CD PIPELINES
The primary tools and technologies used in CI/CD pipelines are automation tools, such as Jenkins and Bamboo, and version control tools, such as Git and Subversion. These tools work together to allow developers to automatically build, test and deploy their code changes.
In addition to these primary tools, there are a number of other supporting tools and technologies that can be used to further streamline the CI/CD pipeline. For example, configuration management tools, such as Chef and Puppet, can be used to manage the configuration of the environments that the code is deployed into. And artifact repositories, such as Nexus and Artifactory, can be used to store the built artifacts for future deployments.
By using a combination of these various tools and technologies, development teams can significantly speed up their release cycles and deliver new features and fixes to customers more rapidly.
-CONCLUSION
Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) are two important concepts in the world of software development. When used together, they can help streamline your development pipeline and make it more efficient. In this article, we’ve looked at what CI/CD is, how it works, and some of the benefits it can provide. Hopefully, this has given you a better understanding of these concepts and how they can be used to improve your development process.

Boyfriend pt 3 (Warren Lipka X Reader)
Word Count: 3k
Summary: You wake up at Warrens house, then finally indirectly break up with your boyfriend.
Warnings: Smut, mentions of Warrens wounds from the fight, mentions of weed
A/n: Okay y’all, i think this might be the last part. I could probably continue this for another part or two if i really wanted to. (i have a couple rough ideas) but I’m probably gonna focus on other fics.
Pt 1, Pt 2
As I open my eyes, I’m startled for a split second, not recognizing the bed I’m in or the ceiling I’m looking at, but the familiar scent of weed and the sound of a bong bubbling while a Green Day CD plays in the background reminds me that I’m at Warrens house. I sit up in his bed, the t-shirt of his that I’m wearing hangs off me, still smelling of his cologne.
“Well good morning sleeping beauty,” Warren says between coughs, I sit up in the bed yawning.
“Why’d you leave me,” I frown, looking at the cold spot next to me where Warren fell asleep last night.
“Well, I waited for you to wake up for like an hour, I got bored,” he laughs, standing from the couch then walking to the bed, bong in hand. I smile at the boy in front of me. His disheveled brown hair that’s falling into his bruised face, the white tank top that hugs his torso snug and his grey sweatpants that don’t leave much to the imagination. “Does this make up for it?” He hands me the glass and the lighter.
“Only if you go get me some water,” I smile sweetly, accepting the bong.
“Anything for you,” he winks, making my heart flutter as he turns to walk up the steps. I take a small hit from the bong before laying back down on the bed, watching the smoke I blow out cloud above my head and dissipate into the yellow light in the ceiling.
‘How did I get here?’ I think to myself. Just last month I had a routine. I was comfortable- albeit bored. I knew what every day was going to consist of, there were no surprises. I woke up, smoked, then either went to work or went to Dakota’s house. If I went to my job at the library, I had a set task list; the exact same every day. If I went to Dakotas, we either went on deliveries or argued because he’d been cheating on me again. Sad, I know, but that’s how it was, and I was fine with it. Everything’s different now, not in a bad way though. Warren invaded my thoughts and my heart as soon as we reunited, and I don’t think he intends on leaving anytime soon. I’m grateful for him. He’s made me see that life can be exciting-and messy. I’ll never be able to think of sex the same for the rest of my life, regardless of what happens with us.
‘Us,’ I think to myself. ‘What are we?’ Are we friends with benefits? Is he seeing other girls? He wants me to break up with my boyfriend, but I don’t even know where he and I stand. I’m going to break up with Dakota- for many reasons- but, do I really want to jump straight into a relationship again? Is that what Warren wants? Will he lose interest once I’m single? Regardless, I don’t want whatever me and him have to end; That’s the only thing I know for sure.
“Here you go, beautiful,” Warren interrupts my thoughts, his voice bringing a smile to my face as he hands me the glass of water.
“You’re so chivalrous,” I giggle before taking a sip of the cold water. Warren crawls over top of me and flops down on the bed, laying on his back with his toned arms crossed above his head. He smiles and sighs, turning his battered face to look at me with heavy eyes.
“What?” I giggle, unsure of why he’s staring. His grin stays plastered on him as he shakes his head.
“Nothing… It’s just if you had told 13 year old me about this past month, I would have never believed you. How did I manage to get the most beautiful girl in Fayette County in my bed, wearing my shirt…only my shirt?” he says in a dreamy tone as he props himself up on a bruised arm. I can’t help but blush at his words. He knows exactly how to flatter a woman.
“Oh stop,” I giggle. “You’re quite the looker yourself,” I smirk as crawl on top him, sitting on his stomach. “You look really good in this wifebeater with your busted lip,” I run my hand up his chest and to his face, brushing my thumb over his healing abrasion. He brings his strong arms to my hips, leaning into my hand on his face. “You look dangerous,” I wiggle my eyebrows, smirking. He laughs as he flips me over so that he’s hovering above me, he slips his hand under the t-shirt I’m wearing, ghosting over my bare core.
“You have no idea,” he whispers lowly in my ear before nibbling on my neck, sending electric shoot through my entire body.
“I don’t think that I thanked you properly for defending my honor,” I smile, before pulling the shirt up and over my body, leaving me completely bare underneath him. His eyes scan my body as he pulls his bottom lip between his teeth.
“This view right here is thanks enough,” his sultry tone resonates in my ears as he runs his busted knuckles over my curves, leaving goosebumps on every inch of skin that he touches.
“I have a little bit more to offer,” I smirk as I sit up, shoving him on to his back. He watches in anticipation as I settle between his legs. “I gotta say,” I purr slowly as my hand ghosts over his crotch. “You looked really hot fighting for me,” I smile through my lashes as I slide my fingers under the top his waistband.
“And I’d do it again, especially if you’re my reward,” he brings a rough hand to my cheek, pushing my hair out of my face as he stares bullets into my soul. I’ve always adored his dark eyes, the color of freshly brewed coffee; bitter yet comforting. A single glance from the man below me is enough to make my core ache.
“You know Warren,” I begin as I slowly pull his sweats down, holding his gaze. “When you look at me like that, you could get me to do absolutely anything you want,” I say before biting my lip in anticipation as I slide his boxers down to reveal his semi hard cock awaiting my attention.
“Mmm, I could say the same thing about you, darlin’,” he groans out, his deep voice sending chills down my spine straight to my core. I spit into my hand before grabbing his cock, pumping it a few times to fully wake it up. He hums at the contact, his body relaxes as he lays flat on his back, laying his arms above his head. I cup his balls in one hand and his base in the other as I slowly sink my mouth down on him until he hits my throat, earning a low moan from the back of his throat.
“You always treat me so well, baby,” Warren groans, squeezing his eyes shut in pleasure. I begin to bob my head up and down on him, hollowing out my cheeks. “Mmm, atta’ girl. Just like that, beautiful,” he sits up to watch me gag on him; a feeling that I’ve grown to love. Every ounce of praise he gives my goes straight to my stomach, fueling the butterflies that are erupting. His eyes, dark with lust, gaze down at me. I lose myself in the moment. His moans and words of praise fill the room as he repeatedly thrusts against the back of my throat. My jaw starts to go numb, but I ignore it; The site of Warrens face contorted in pleasure and the compliments falling from his blushed lips is worth every ounce of pain.
I see his hand go the night stand, picking up my vibrating phone. I pull away from him, catching my breath as he puts the phone to his ear.
“What do you want?” he asks with a sly grin before gently guiding my head back to his erection. I’m confused, but I obey and slip him back into my mouth. “She’s right here, but she’s a little busy at the moment,” he smirks into the phone.
‘Oh god. It’s got to be Dakota’ I think to myself as I kitten lick around his tip. I hear him raise his voice on the other end of the line.
‘Yep. It’s Dakota,’ I think I hear him ask warren to put me on the phone, followed by some curses. Warren laughs as he thrusts deep into my throat, making me audibly gag.
“She can’t talk right now man, her mouths a little preoccupied,” he winks at me, my cheeks burn red. I can tell Warren is enjoying this- maybe a little too much and I hate to admit that I also find this situation extremely hot, so I play along. I take his entire length into my throat, past my gag reflex until my nose is nestled against the small patch of brown hair decorating his skin.
“Fuck! Just like that baby,” he moans loudly, chuckling into the receiver. He begins to thrust deep into my throat, groaning in pleasure. “What’s she doing?” He laughs breathlessly as his free hand uses my hair to hold my head in place as he violates my mouth. “Mmm, I’ll spare you the details, dude,” he says, his stupid grin not leaving his face. I can hear Dakota cussing Warren out. His eyes focus on me as thick strings of spit drip from my mouth around him as he fucks my throat, my gagging filling the room. Warren uses my hair to pull my head back, spit rolling down my face as I gasp for air. He holds the small phone up to my mouth. “Do you like gagging on me y/n?” he asks I nod my head still trying catch my breath. “Use your words beautiful,” he says with the biggest shit eating grin, using his eyes to motion to the phone.
“I fucking love it,” I say breathlessly, a smirk falling across my own face as my knees becoming weak from how aroused I am. With that, he shoves his cock back into my mouth.
“Holy fucking shit,” he growls in a way I’ve never heard before as he drops the phone on his chest, Dakotas small voice still shouting on the other end of the line. Warren grabs either side of my head guiding me up and down his cock a couple more times.
“Fuck, just like that, baby. I’m cumming,” Warren groans as he releases deep into my throat and onto my tongue, I lap up every last drop, pulling away gasping again. “Did you swallow all of it, darlin’?” he asks, panting as he wipes a tear from my cheek. Dakotas frantic voice still chirping through the small plastic brick.
“Yes sir,” I giggle opening my mouth, sticking my tongue. Warren smirks, grabbing my ass to scootch me up to him. “Good girl,” he says against my lips.
“Warren!” I hear Dakotas infuriated voice boom from the phone. Warren laughs holding it up to his ear again. Dakota bellows every slur, insult, and curse word I’ve ever heard through the cell until Warren cuts him off.
“Yeah that’s why I fucked your girl,” he laughs loudly, his shit eating grin plastered proudly on his battered face. “Bitchass cuck!” he shouts before ending the call, tossing the phone to the side.
“Warren, what was all that about,” I giggle as he attacks my bare skin with kisses and love bites.
“That was the hottest thing I’ve ever experienced.” He pants against my skin. “Turn over, beautiful, I’m not done yet,” he slaps my ass, standing to remove his tank top, his dick still hard as ever. My stomach flips as I get on my hands and knees on his bed. He comes up behind me, pulling me to the edge of the bed, using his hands to spread me open. Wasting no time, he licks a long strip across my core, earning a whimper from me. “You taste so sweet baby,” he coos before inserting a finger inside of me. I whine at the contact. He begins pumping his finger inside of me. “You really liked that, hm? You’re soaked,” I can hear the smirk in his voice, all I can do is nod my head as he curls exactly where I need him most.
“Fuck Warren,” I whimper, desperate for more of his touch.
“You’re so fucking stunning,” he runs his hand down my back and over my ass, admiring my body while he slips another finger inside of me, I whine in response. It’s strange the kind of affect he has on me; With one touch from his hand, I’m soaked. I’m so pathetically attracted to this man, I’m almost ashamed. He fuels a lust deep inside of me that I never even knew was there. No drug is any match for the way that Warren can make me feel.
“Fuck me, Warren,” I whimper out as his fingers pump into me. “Please, I can’t stand it, I need you Warren, please,” I plead in a way that I’d never imagined I would beg a man.
“Anything for my girl,’’ he coos, pulling his fingers out to lean down and place wet kiss on my lower back, nibbling at the skin, sure to leave a mark.
‘His girl’ the phrase fills my heart with joy.
Soon, I feel Warren slowly pushing into me. His hand reaches up, snaking gently around my throat as he pushes deeper and deeper into my sopping wet cunt. I let out the unholiest of sounds as he stretches me out.
“Fuck,” my voice comes out shaky and desperate as he begins to thrust into me.
“Holy shit, you’re so fucking perfect,” he groans, his grip on my throat tightening as he pounds into me. He slaps my ass, making me gasp loudly. He rubs his hand gently over the stinging skin. “This is mine,” he growls lowly, then he wraps his other hand around my torso, pulling me up to so that my back is flush against his chest as I rest my knees on the bed. This new angle allows him to hit even deeper inside of me, making me see stars. I lean my head back on his shoulder, my eyes rolling back in their sockets. He grabs my face and ducks his head down to pull me into an intense kiss. His tongue explores my mouth as he pounds my pussy into oblivion.
“You’re all mine,” he growls against my lips, his grip tightening on my throat a bit. My knees go so weak that his arms are the only thing holding me up, keeping our sweaty skin pressed together.
“Fuck Warren,” I pant out, barely audible. The rubber band that has been tightly winding in my stomach snaps, sending ecstasy to every cell of my body. My walls convulse around him while he continues to thrust into me mercilessly. “That’s my girl,” he groans lowly in my ear, reaching down to rub my clit to encourage my orgasm. I come completely undone around him, my body begins to shake as I scream out his name, the pleasure almost to much when he reaches his own release. He pumps me full of his cum, fucking it deep into me as I clench around him. His warm seed drips out of my cunt around his cock as he rides out his orgasm, surely leaving bruises underneath every fingertip gripping my neck. He finally slows down, pulling out of me before picking me up with shaky arms to lay me gently on the bed. I lay with my eyes closed trying to catch my breath, a sweaty puddle on the disheveled bed. Warren lays down beside me. “I’m sorry, was that too much?” he asks sincerely, placing a loving hand on my stomach. I open my eyes, turning to look at him.
“Are you kidding,” I giggle weakly. His worried expression quickly matches my own. “Warren that was amazing,” I crawl up to lay on his sweaty chest, his quick heartbeat is comforting as it rings through my ears.
“You can always tell me if I do something you don’t like,” he says honestly as he traces circles on my back, using his other hand to run his fingers through my hair.
“Warren Lipka, you know that you can do no wrong,” I giggle as I snuggle further into him. He laughs lightly, the room is filled with a comfortable silence.
“Hey, how ‘bout we get cleaned up and I take you to that new cafe that opened up in town?” He offers. I sit up to meet his gaze, he has a serious expression on his bruised face.
“What? Like… like a date?” I smile a bit sheepishly. He smiles right back.
“I’d sure like it to be,” he says hopefully. My grin stretches from ear to ear as I stand from the bed, tugging on his arm.
“Well, come on then. I don’t want to go on our first date with your cum dripping down my leg,” I laugh as I pull him into the bathroom.
“Hm, I don’t know. Sounds kinda hot to me,” he chuckles as he closes the bathroom door behind us, pulling me into a deep kiss before he turns the shower head on.

colby brock
scared!

summary: it's your turn to host pizza night in your apartment. during the night, your boyfriend announces his leave. oblivious to you, you don't realise he's still in your apartment - hiding away in the storage cupboard.
"colby! can you get the door, please? "
you lean over the upstairs railing, looking down to the living room, where your boyfriend, colby, laid on the couch.
he glances up to you before dropping his phone beside him. he gets up from the couch, striding over to the front door.
you hear him greet the delivery man before he takes the load of pizza boxes in his arms. "thanks man" you hear colby say as you run down the stairs.
colby was leaning the pizza boxes over the kitchen island, whilst his leg was stretched out behind him, shutting the front door.
"it smells so good" you sing as you watch colby lay out the boxes on the island. "mhm, i'm starving" colby chuckles, looking at you.
he makes grabby hands towards you as he bats his lashes. "cutie" you scoff as you make your way into his arms. "trust me when i say you're the only one who gets away with calling me that" he shakes his head before placing a kiss on your hair.
"you, colby brock, are the biggest cutie and softie, i've ever met." you giggle as you lean on your tiptoes, wrapping your arms around your boyfriend's nape.
"really?" he hums, pressing your back against the side of the island, his hands on either side of you, trapping you in his embrace. you nod at his question, looking up at his blue eyes. "fine" he drags, inching his face closer to yours.
he raises his fingers up to settle on your chin. he then lifts your chin up, making your eyes fall further into his eyes. "let me show you how soft i am, then," his voice came across as harsh, completely contradicting his statement.
he drops his lips on yours, rougly, making your head tilt back slightly. he let's his fingers drop to your throat, gripping it.
his body towered yours as he bit your bottom lip, making your lips part. he let's his tongue slide into your mouth. you were arched against him as his tongue explored your mouth.
he let his free hand run up your side, lifting up the xplr hoodie from the hem that you were wearing. his hand squeezing your bare skin as he went further up, stopping just above your waist.
the sound of someone clearing their throat filled the room, making you and colby turn your heads towards the door. sam stood in the doorway, looking out to the hallway, "should i go?" sam says awkwardly as he continues to stare into the hallway.
you cursed under your breath as you attempted to push colby away, but he stayed in his position, his hand on your waist whilst his other was still wrapped around your throat.
"colby" you whisper sternly, squatting his arm. he let out a deep chuckle as he let go of your waist and throat. he lowered his head, leaving a kiss to your throat. "was that soft enough?" colby asks, rhetorically, with a smirk across his lips.
"great timing, man" you see colby roll his eyes before turning to sam. "you can turn around, we were decent anyways" colby says to him. you watch sam turn around, he held a bottle of vodka in his hands, walking over to the kitchen island, he set it down.
"next time, try locking the door" sam shakes his head as he hugs colby. "hey y/n" sam smiles, leaning in for a hug. you return his hug, making eye contact with colby, who stood behind him.
you raised your hand behind sam's back, directing your middle finger to your boyfriend. colby chuckled before walking around you both, jumping over the couch to take a seat.
you had pulled away from sam and now made your way over to the living room, sam following behind. you took a seat beside your boyfriend whilst sam sat opposite you both.
"okay, so what movie are we watching tonight?" sam asks, flickering through the pile of cd's. "what about the grinch?" you squeal. "seriously?" colby chuckles. "hey" you pout, playfully slapping his arm, "it's christmas, soon. we need to get in the christmas spirit, " you shrug before leaning your back against colby's chest. he pulls you in closer, wrapping his arms around you.
"i'm down for it" sam says. you tilt your head back against colby, looking up at him as you bat your eyelashes. "fine, grinch it is" colby shakes his head before placing an upside kiss on your lips.
"i won't start it until everyone comes," sam announces.
half an hour had passed, your apartment was now crowded with your friends and some people you didn't even know like friends of friends.
a few people took seats on the couch, and some were on the floor with blankets, whilst the rest stood in the kitchen.
"i'm gonna get another pizza slice. want one?" colby asks, his chin rested on your shoulder whilst he had his arms around you. "i'm okay" you smile, shuffling off colby's lap so he can stand up from the couch.
he placed a small kiss on the side of your face before standing up from the couch, making his way to the kitchen.
you heard colby's voice stand out as he joined in a conversation, but the movie quickly drained it out with how loud the volume was.
"i'm so tired" katrina yawns, flopping down beside you on the couch. you giggle at her, watching as she shuffles closer to you, letting her head rests against your lap.
"gonna take a nap" she hums. "go upstairs, sleep at mine tonight," you urge. "can't, got to be up early tomorrow to go in the studio," she hums. "you work too hard, kat," you tut. "i know, so let me sleep," she whines. you laugh, putting your hands up in defence.
despite saying she wanted to sleep, she continued talking about her studio session tomorrow.
"move kat" you hear colby say, making you and kat raise your head to colby, who stood beside the couch you were both sat on. "no" she mumbled. "too tired," she groans. "go upstairs, then" colby shrugs.
"i don't want to. besides, i was here first, " she mumbles. colby glares down at her, his eyes warning her.
"fuck you, brock" she mutters, raising her middle finger. "not a hit with the ladies tonight, mr brock" you tease colby, shaking your head in playful disappointment. colby spreads a smirk across his lips. he raises his hand, settling it around you throat. his index finger situated under your jaw, upholding your face higher, so you're looking up at him. whilst letting his thumb run along your bottom lip.
you glanced down, quickly, to see katrina dozing off. you then let your eyes flicker back up to colby. you watch as he squats down, letting his his free hand slither around your waist.
he lifts you up, easily like you weigh nothing, and takes a seat where you were sat. he places you on his lap. "you're an-" you begin to say, furrowing your eyebrows. "i wouldn't finish that if i was you baby," colby grinned, finding this amusing.
you scoff before rearranging yourself on his laps. you moved both legs, so you were now straddling him. you quickly turned your head, scanning the room: everyone was so fixated on their own conversations or either watching the movie that luckily no one was watching you and colby.
"what's up?" colby asks, squeezing your hip. you turned back to him, shaking your head. "nothing" you smiled. colby nodded before nuzzling his face into your shoulder. you let your hands rest on the back of his head, your fingers running through his hair.
"i have to go soon" colby mumbles against your shoulder. "why?" you frowned, pulling yourself back so you could see colby's face. "need an early night" he says, leaning back on the couch, "i'm picking up gage from the airport in the morning." he finishes off. "you can stay at mine and then just leave in the morning," you frown. "i have to leave at four am. i wouldn't want to wake you, baby," he shakes his head. "i'll come back to yours after, though, i promise," he says.
"i'll see you tomorrow, okay?" colby places a kiss on your cheek. "you sure you can't stay?" you ask, wrapping your arms around his body. "i can't, baby" he pouts. "okay" you mutter. "i'll see you in the morning," you plaster a small smile on your lips before placing a kiss on colby's lips.
"i love you" colby smiled, tightly wrapping me in his embrace. "i love you too, goodnight." you let yourself off colby, and he makes his way out.
as the night went on, so did the movies. majority of the people had left, it was now two am, and you were laid on the couch with katrina and sam, watching the end of the second harry potter film.
"i should take her home" sam mumbles. "you guys can stay over" you inform him. "no, it's okay, i should get her back, though, she's in the studio in the morning" sam says, standing up from the couch. you nod before letting your head fall back onto the couch. you watch sam pick katrina up in his arms. "see you later y/n" he smiles. "goodnight guys"
you hear the front door shut, making your eyes drift you to sleep.
as you felt yourself fall into a deep sleep, you heard something over by the storage cupboard. it heard like rustling. blaming it on the wind, you shut your eyes again.
but once again, you heard something that made you jump. you heard a clinking noise, like the sounds of the chains.
you grabbed your phone and put on the flash. you didn't bother looking around at your surroundings. instead, you bolted your way upstairs and into your bed.
you unlocked your phone and opened your messages between colby.
y/n: are you awake?
colby: yeah, what's up?
y/n: i can hear something downstairs
colby: what'd you mean, baby?
y/n: i heard rustling before, and then just before i came up, i heard a clinking sound.
colby: can you hear anything now?
you read over colby's message before setting your phone down. you get off your bed and make your way to stand in the middle of the stairway. you hear out out for noises but you hear nothing.
letting out a deep breath, you didn't know you were holding, you made your way back to bed.
y/n: false alarm, i think i was being paranoid.
colby: you sure? i'll get sam to come over?
colby: i'm at the airport right now.
y/n: no, i'm fine. sorry, i think i just got scared.
colby: don't apologize, okay? text me if you need me, i'll be at yours in a few hours.
y/n: see you later, be safe.
you set your phone down beside you and lay down on your bed. you stare at the ceiling as you play with your fingers, feeling nervously.
what had felt like several minutes turned into nearly an hour.
and you could hear rustling noises again and a slight murmuring.
feeling scared once again, you opened your messages between sam.
as you began typing out a message to him, you heard the microwave beep from downstairs, followed with a small whisper, "fuck"
you stuffed your phone into your pocket hoodie and flung your feet over the bed and to the floor.
you tiptoed over to the stairway and took small, quiet steps downstairs. the murmuring sound now becoming clear.
"what the fuck are you doing here!" you exclaimed.
you watch as the person in the kitchen drops their slice of pizza on the counter.
"fuck" they whispered before turning around.
"colby, what the hell!" you shouted, walking up to him, hitting his bare chest.
he stood shirtless, only in his cargo pants, the chains of his pants tucked into his pocket but hanging out still - so that's what was making that clinking sound.
"i thought you fucking left!" you exclaimed. he chuckled before pointing at the camera, which sat on the island. "the prank wars have started baby" he grins. he walks past you and grabs the camera. "okay, so she caught me" colby pouted, looking over at you, letting the camera too. "but it was worth it cause i get a dropped pizza out of it, and now i get to go to sleep, cuddling this one." colby smirks, wrapping his free arm around you.
you scoff before pushing him away. "you can take the couch." you roll your eyes before attempting to turn to go back upstairs.
colby was quick to grab your wrist. you heard him set the camera down before grabbing you, so you would turn around to face him. "i'm sorry, but pizza night was the perfect time for this prank"
he wrapped his arms around you, looking down at you. "i'm sorry" he pouted, batting his eyelashes.
"you disturbed my sleep colby, you know how much i love my sleep" you groaned. "i'll make it up to you" he smirks. "make it up to me later" you sigh.
"for now, come cuddle me to sleep"
my first colby fic, i started this on christmas, hence the little grinch mention :)
i might do colby's pov to this?

'O Sole Mio'
?: After a few glasses of cheap Chianti, Luigi tells you a story. Nothing could have prepared you for its delivery.
1,080w
Author's Note: I don't have any words left after this, all i have is feelings and crying and ... im so gone for him. ive lost my mind. i dont know if this shit makes any sense but i was just about weeping writing it LOL
------------
It was the last golden gasp of summer at Seaside Heights, the kind of evening that feels like a postcard itself. The boardwalk was alive with the smell of fried dough and the sound of distant screaming children on rides powered by questionable engineering. Luigi and I had wedged ourselves into a corner table on the patio at some hole-in-the-wall Italian place.
We had ordered slices and “just a glass” of wine, which inevitably became, “Just bring us the bottle.” By the time I was three pours deep, Luigi had his legs stretched out like he owned the place.
His eyes, espresso-dark and shining under the cheap string lights of the boardwalk, were giving me that look. You know the one. Like he knew how good he looked in his half-buttoned linen shirt.
That’s when he suddenly froze, his head tilting to the side. He pointed upward. The music—some cheesy, dramatic Pavarotti knockoff that these Italian dives play to try and appear authentic. Then he smiled, clapping a hand over his mouth.
“What?” I asked, already laughing at whatever dumb thing he was about to say.
“Oh my God.” He shook his head. “I can’t tell you. No way.”
“Well, now you have to tell me.” I smacked his arm—rock solid.
He paused and sighed. “Okay, but promise me you won’t laugh.” He leaned in with a straight face that had me eagerly anticipating another highly entertaining Mangione story.
“I promise,” I lied.
“Alright.” He looked around, then leaned in conspiratorially. I was melting for this man. Every moment with him felt important, filled with meaning. He could have said anything, and I’d lap it up like a dog. “So,” he started, rubbing his face like he was already regretting this.
“My mom used to play these mix CDs on the stereo at home. Pavarotti, Bocelli, all the classics, right? She’d be cooking, cleaning, just vibing to these… love songs.”
“Sure,” I said. Totally normal so far.
“But this song”—he pointed upwards again to the song playing on the patio speakers—“‘O Sole Mio,’ a total guilty pleasure for her. When it came on, she would lose her mind. Singing, swaying, dancing. And eight-year-old me sat there watching her, thinking, This must be the greatest song in the history of songs. So, Mother’s Day comes around…”
At this point, Luigi paused, biting his lip like he wasn’t sure he should continue. I couldn’t help the smile that possessed my face.
“Oh my God, Lu, what did you do?”
He waved me off, reaching for his wine. “No, nah, I can’t—”
“Finish the story, Luigi.”
“Fine.” He threw his hands up. “I learned the song. Like, the whole song, okay? I watched every Pavarotti performance on YouTube at the time. Memorized the lyrics. Practiced in front of the mirror. And on Mother’s Day, I performed it for her.”
“You didn’t.”
“I did. For her, my family, my cousins, neighbors. I’m pretty sure Pavarotti himself has sung for smaller audiences.”
I lost it. “You did not…” I said, breathless already. The image of little eight-year-old Luigi in my head, filled with love for his mama, singing an Italian love song in complete earnestness, was too hysterical to keep contained.
“I did,” he admitted. The music swelled in the restaurant, hitting that classic over-the-top crescendo, and Luigi—my God, this man—pushed back his chair and stood up.
“And now…” He slapped his hand on his puffed-up chest and lifted his chin.
“Luigi, NO.”
“I will sing it for you.”
And let me tell you, it was terrible.
He was hamming it up like some kind of opera drunk on karaoke night, his voice all over the place but somehow still deeply passionate, like he was singing to save Italy itself. People in the restaurant were staring. I was just as mortified as I was captivated. Tears were streaming down my face. Dying. And he didn’t stop. He didn’t care. He kept going—arms gesturing wildly, every crescendo perfectly wrong—and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
When he hit the final note—“O SOOOOLEEEEEE MIIIIOOOOOOO!”—he threw out his arms in a dramatic flourish, like he was expecting roses to rain down from the sky. I clapped so hard my palms hurt.
When he finished, he bowed. One or two other patrons gave half-hearted claps, probably just impressed by his dedication to the bit. His cheeks and ears were a delicious shade of pink, his smile lighting up his face as he moved his chair closer to me.
“You’re too much, Luigi,” I said, wiping tears from my eyes.
He finally sat down, our knees touching. He leaned towards me, and suddenly I was his only audience. “Do you know what the song means?” His voice was soft, so only I could hear. There was a twinkle in his eye that wasn’t there before.
I shook my head.
“Okay, ‘O Sole Mio’—it means ‘My Sunshine.’ It’s about… someone being the light of your life. Like…” He shifted his weight, trying to find the words. “Like even the sun itself can’t hold a candle to the person you love.”
He ran a hand through his hair, a little embarrassed by the intensity, but too caught up in the moment to stop himself. “It’s like the artist was saying, ‘The world is so much brighter with you in it.’ The guy is completely wrecked over how beautiful life is because of this one person... you know?”
His eyebrows furrowed slightly, gauging if any of this was resonating with me at all. His goofy bravado had melted into something almost painfully genuine and sincere.
This was real for him.
“I do know, Lu,” I said quietly.
He leaned back, taking his wine. He shrugged. “And that’s why I sang it for my mom.” He tried to downplay it, but I saw right through him. “Because she’s always been my sunshine. Always will be.”
My breath caught in my throat at that.
Then, he must have realized he’d gone too far into the serious zone. He snapped back to being playful. “Anyway, I fucking nailed that performance on Mother’s Day, and everyone talked about it for weeks after.”
I don’t know if he realized what he was doing to me. The lights sparkled brighter. The air tasted sweeter. And my heart was warmer. Because he was here. He was insane, but I wouldn't have him any other way.
The song made perfect sense. Life is a gift with you.
~~~
What a beautiful thing is a sunny day.
But another sun, even more beauteous, oh my sweetheart, My own sun, shines from your face This sun, my own sun, Shines from your face; It shines from your face
I feel like something could be said about how Lily’s criticism works best with media for children. More specifically, media made for the children of the current generation. If she talks about something people have grown up with or keeps digging at a piece of media that people grew out of, she’s dealing with adults who know that media inside and out, experienced its highs and lows, and matured long enough to form their own opinion. So to have this woman come in and say, “This sucks, actually,” she gets adults coming in and saying, “YOU suck, actually.” And goodness forbids she talks about media made FOR adults, because that results in her getting laughed out of the room. Like with her infamous (And I think deleted) Delicious in Dungeon review or her embarrassing play through of Dragon Age. The adults weren’t buying what she’s selling, and that’s why she focused on kids. Children are young and impressionable, looking for stuff about their favorite media. Here comes this adult talking with absolute certainty and helping form their media beliefs. It’s why Lily runs into trouble when the kids who disagree with her grew up and know exactly how Lily was wrong. I remember seeing someone on the Owl House subreddit posting a screenshot of one of Lily’s videos on the show and already dreading it. It reads as someone who KNOWS what Lily gets into with popular media of the time and expects her to bash someone’s favorite thing. But if it’s someone who doesn’t know her…
Lily hinges her career on people too young to know her and to know BETTER. It’s why she sticks to children’s media that’s popular enough to help her gain more of an audience. It’s why she rebrands herself so people can know her as CD-Call instead of the Lily Orchard that people have learned to hate. And it’s why she’s continually growing into obscurity, because she doesn’t grow up with her audience and chooses to stay as the same ignorant person that the rest of the internet is sick of.
This is an insightful take, and it really taps into how calculated Lily’s content strategy is — even if it’s not as deliberate as she might think.
Lily’s criticism thrives when she’s talking about current children’s media because that’s where she can assert herself as an "authority" to an audience that’s impressionable and eager to form opinions. When she critiques shows like The Owl House, Steven Universe, or Amphibia, she’s engaging with a demographic that’s often too young to have developed strong media literacy yet. Kids and younger teens might not know how to spot weak arguments or manipulative rhetoric, so they’re more likely to take her bombastic claims at face value.
Lily’s loud, confident delivery — combined with her tendency to present subjective opinions as objective fact — makes her especially influential to viewers who haven’t yet learned to separate strong critique from shallow contrarianism. If she insists “This show is bad because X, Y, and Z,” younger viewers are more likely to internalize that without questioning her logic.
But when Lily steps outside that comfort zone? The cracks in her façade become obvious.
When she criticizes media that adults have had years to reflect on, those viewers are far less likely to be swayed by her shallow, surface-level critiques. Adults who grew up with older media have had time to analyze and understand its strengths and weaknesses. So when Lily barges in with a smug, dismissive attitude — often reducing complex narratives to simplistic talking points — people who really know that media aren’t going to fall for her act. That’s why her takes on older shows or games tend to backfire; she can’t rely on the same smoke-and-mirrors tactics that work on younger audiences.
And when it comes to media for adults? That’s where Lily’s lack of nuance becomes downright embarrassing. Adults watching adult content tend to expect more complexity — in storytelling, themes, and even critique. But Lily’s rigid, black-and-white thinking doesn’t allow her to engage with that complexity. Instead, she resorts to surface-level nitpicking, often missing the point entirely. This is why her Delicious in Dungeon review flopped so hard and why her Dragon Age playthrough was a trainwreck. She couldn’t keep up with the layered writing, narrative depth, or subtext — because she’s simply not equipped to analyze them.
This ties directly into Lily’s tendency to avoid introspection or growth. Instead of learning to engage with more complex material or sharpening her analysis skills, she doubles down on what’s easiest — children’s media that’s accessible enough for her to feel like she’s an expert. But the problem with hinging her career on kids’ media is that kids grow up.
Those younger fans who once hung on her every word eventually gain the experience and critical thinking skills to see through her manipulations. They start to recognize the patterns — the lazy arguments, the emotional manipulation, the blatant misinformation — and many of them outgrow her. That’s why Lily’s content is stuck in this repetitive cycle: she bashes the current “big” kids’ show, draws in a fresh wave of younger viewers, alienates them as they grow older, and then pivots to another piece of trendy media to start the cycle again.
Her rebranding as CD-Call is a clear attempt to outrun her own reputation — to detach herself from the “Lily Orchard” name that’s become infamous for toxicity and manipulation. But no matter how many fresh starts she tries, the truth keeps catching up with her. Because while her audience grows up, Lily refuses to. She's stuck in the same shallow, reactive mindset — obsessed with “owning” her critics and controlling the narrative rather than engaging with media (or people) in good faith.
That’s why her relevance is fading. Without the ability to evolve her content, reflect on her mistakes, or genuinely engage with new ideas, Lily’s tactics are becoming more transparent — and her influence is steadily shrinking as a result.
Sonic 3 was AMAZING!!
(Warning! Movie spoilers ahead)
As a major Sonic fan ever since my early years, I highly appreciate the live action movie universe. They are a lot of fun most of the time while being both its own thing and respecting the games at the same time. So, of course, I was hyped to see this third instalment - it did not disappoint.
Well… mostly. I’ll explain as the review goes on.
As the second sequel, it did a magnificent job at continuing to develop the main characters. Sonic learning to be part of a team was all good and having brotherly connections with Tails and Knuckles is a joy to watch. Knuckles himself may be a little more goofy this time around, but that’s made up with a really good scene in the third act. Tom becoming more of a father figure to Sonic now, still giving him advice that returns later on in the film.
Oh ho, and Shadow. If you thought he was great in Shadow Generations, he is equally as well written here. From the animation of his expressions and the deliveries of Keanu’s performance to the layered backstory, this is all I want from our favourite introverted hedgie; not the edgie hedgie. And I will admit, I adore the flashbacks of him bonding with Maria, really showed why she was so important to him.
But now… I come to the one con I have. That is with Gerald Robotnik. I read online that it was going to be explained that Shadow’s chaos energy is why he stayed alive for 50 years, why wasn’t it in? Idk. But my main issue has to be the scenes of bonding with Eggman. Jim Carrey usually does a great job as the egg-shaped scientist, however, his humor in this movie felt really cringe to me. This led me to wishing Gerald remained dead like in the games.
Bonus point: The new female character I can give less than a sh** about; it should’ve been Rouge instead.
Thankfully I’m okay with the rest of the humor here. References to trivia like Knuckles hating ghosts, to Tom’s weird new hobbies, they all had a pretty solid landing (but the konichiwa joke was super painful).
Oh! And the addition of Live and Learn when Sonic and Shadow go super?! The icing on the cake! We need more real Sonic music in this universe! 🥰
Lastly, the post credit scene. I was slightly spoiled by YouTube comments but that didn’t stop me from being blown away by Amy’s entrance, beating up a Metal Sonic army like it was nothing - I guess the next movie will be based on Sonic CD but who knows.
Anyway, it was a great yet not perfect movie with a lot of heart put into it. It really deserves all the praise it can get. Left me hanging on the edge of tomorrow. 9/10. 👍
(See this?! In your face, live-action Mufasa!)
The Color Pink (Part 12)
wow this has so many parts to it now
it's never gonna end
The Sleepover
As he waited for Hazel to show up, Theodore rushed to clean up around the house, especially the bedroom. He was in a panic. He cleaned up any clothes laying around. He hurried to change his sheets and blanket. He couldn't remember the last time he changed them... He was unsure what to do with the clean unfolded laundry. He didn't have time to fold it all and put it away, so he grabbed another hamper and shoved it all in. He darted his head around, looking for anything that might gross her out, but everything seemed fine. He texted her his address, and she texted back: I'm on my way!
He paced around as he waited for her. He was suddenly extremely nervous. What if she thinks I'm gross? What if she changes her mind about me? What if she thinks I'm too weird? What if... There was a knock on the door that interrupted his thoughts. He went over and opened the door. It was Hazel. She had a huge smile on her face. "Hi," she greeted.
"Hey," he replied, "come on in."
She walked in with her hands clasped together. Now that she was in his house, she was a bit timid. She had a small pink bag filled with clothes and small accessories. "I have to admit," she rubbed her arm, "now that I'm here, I am a bit nervous.
"Yeah, I get that. We can just take it easy."
"That'd be nice. I'm a little tired, honestly."
"We can go straight to bed if you want."
"You don't want to watch a movie or anything?"
"Oh, I have a TV in my room!"
"Wait, really?"
"Yeah! It has one of those built in CD players!"
"Oh, cool!" She reached into her bag. "Cause I brought a movie!" She pulled out a CD case. Princess Mononoke. "Have you ever heard of Studio Ghibli?"
"No, I haven't actually."
Hazel gasped. "What?! Their movies are so good! My Neighbor Totoro? Kiki's Delivery Service? Castle in the Sky?"
Theodore shrugged.
"Seriously?! Oh, my gosh, you'll love them!"
"Well, we can watch it out here or in the room."
"Mmmm... Let's go in the room! I've never had a TV in the bedroom! It sounds super comfy!"
"It is. I don't really watch it a lot. It's mostly for background noise while I sleep."
"Really?"
"Yeah. When I was a kid, my mom had a TV in her room. Whenever I had nightmares, I'd go into her room, and she'd put the TV on so I'd feel safe. It still helps me sleep sometimes."
"Aww! That's so cute!"
Theo shrugged and blushed. "Ehh, it's no big deal. Come on," he grabbed her hand, "my room is upstairs."
He held her hand as he led her upstairs, where there was a couple rooms and a bathroom. He took her into his room, it was nicely decorated to suit his personality. There were a few band posters, a few family portraits, some Polaroid pictures of him with some other people. There was also a broken skateboard hung up on the wall. The TV was on a wooden dresser which matched his bed frame. His bed was made nice and neatly. On it was one single plush animal. Hazel picked it up.
"What is this?" she asked.
"Oh, that's Mr. PuppyDog! He was my first Build-A-Bear."
"Aw! He's so cute! I have so many Build-A-Bears, I can't tell you all of their names."
"I have a few other plushes. They're in storage, somewhere. Probably still at my mom's house."
Hazel put the plush back down on the bed. "This whole room is filled with your personality."
Theo shrugged. "Whatever that means."
"It means that your room is a lot like what you're like."
"I'm still confused."
She waved her hand in dismissal. "Don't worry about it. It's not a bad thing." She handed him the CD. "Here."
"Oh, right."
He went over to the TV and started to fuss with it. As he put the CD in, she continued to examine his room. She went to sit down on the right side of the bed, but she noticed something on the nightstand.
"Um... Theo?"
"Yeah? What's up?"
"Is this your ashtray?"
Oh shit... He forgot to hide that. "Um... Yeah..."
"I didn't know you were a smoker."
"Sorry, I thought you knew. I thought everybody knew."
"No, I... I didn't."
"..." Theo didn't know what to say.
"I have to admit..." She looked at him. "I wasn't expecting that. I'm a little disappointed."
"I'm ashamed, honestly. It's not my proudest habit. I've tried to quit a few times, but it's rough."
"I've heard about that. My dad used to be a smoker. He quit, but it took a while. He got really bad withdrawals."
"Yeah, so did I when I tried to quit. I was really moody and got sick a few times..."
She shrugged. "Would you be willing to try quitting again?"
"I could try."
"Please? For me?" She made a cute face.
He chuckled and rubbed her on the head. "Sure. For you."
"Good."
"I'll get rid of this." He took the ashtray and moved it into the other room. He came back in and grabbed the remote from the dresser.
"Before we start the movie, we should get in our PJ's!"
"Oh, uh... I usually just sleep in a t-shirt and underwear, but I can put on some shorts or something."
"That's fine! I mean, you're already in a hoodie and sweatpants."
"Yeah, I don't know why you got dressed to come to a sleepover."
"Shush! Be nice to me!"
He laughed. "You want me to leave the room real quick, give you some privacy?"
"If you don't mind."
Noise stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him. Hazel changed from her day clothes to a pair of cute pajamas. They were pink satin cami top and shorts with black polka dots scattered around. The ends were covered with black lace. She opened the door and poked her head out.
"I'm all good, now," she said cheerfully.
Theodore opened the door and entered the room again. His eyes grew wide and he blushed.
"What?" She tilted her head in confusion.
"Sorry," he chuckled nervously. "You look really pretty."
She went over and held his face with her hands. His eyes grew even wider and his face was red. She giggled and rubbed her thumbs across his cheeks. She tilted her head and kissed him softly. "Relax. It's okay."
"Sorry, sorry. I'm still working on that."
"I know you are. Now, come on," she went back over to the right side of the bed and sat down. "Let's watch the movie! It's such a good one!"
He walked over and crawled onto the left side of the bed. He propped up some pillows to make it comfortable to lean back. He handed her the remote since she was the one who brought the movie.
"Oh, wait," Theo blurted.
"What is it?"
"Um... There's another thing that you might not be too happy with."
Hazel gave him a look.
"It's not like the smoking, but... Can you reach into the drawer on my nightstand?"
"Why?"
"I need to take my meds before I forget. I usually keep them in there."
"Oh! Yeah, sure!" She reached into the drawer and grabbed an orange pill bottle. She handed it to him.
"There should be another one in there."
She looked again and found another. She handed that one to him, too. "What are those?"
"They're my meds."
"Yeah, I know, but what are they?"
"Oh! Well, one of them is an antidepressant and the other is for my bipolar."
"Theo... You have depression?"
"... You don't?"
"No."
"Sorry, I usually just assume everybody does until they tell me else wise."
"And bipolar?"
"Well, I mean, yeah."
"I had no idea."
"Ask anybody who works for me, they'll tell you all about it." He laughed. "I have to grab some water from the kitchen. You wanna come with? We can grab some snacks or something for the movie."
"Yeah! I could use a water, too."
"Okay, come on!"
The two went downstairs and into the kitchen. Theo grabbed a couple of water bottles from the fridge while Hazel opened the pantry. "Holy shit," she exclaimed. In the pantry was candy and snacks galore. There was every kind of chips and candy imaginable. Hazel almost felt overwhelmed by the amount of selection.
"Theodore," she said, "do you even have real food?"
"Um... kind of? I eat out a lot."
"There's so much..."
"Yep! Pick whatever you want!"
"Oh, geez, I don't know."
Theodore already knew what he wanted. He grabbed a pack of gummy bears and a pack of classic Pocky.
"Oh, I love Pocky! Do you-"
"Yes, I have the strawberry flavor."
Hazel squealed as he handed her a box of strawberry Pocky. Strawberry anything was her favorite flavor. Theo gave her a water bottle and grabbed her hand as he led her back upstairs. They went back into the bedroom and got in their previous spots on the bed. Hazel sat up with her legs criss crossed, Theo sat against the headboard. Hazel picked up the remote. Theo grabbed one of the pill bottles and took the medicine.
"I'll take the other one later," he said. "It makes me really tired. I want to stay awake for the movie."
"You're going to love it!"
As the movie started, Hazel scooted over and rested her head on Theo's shoulder. Noise suddenly grew anxious. He put his hands together and twiddled his thumbs. He tried to focus on the film, but his heart was racing. Hazel leaned into him more and wrapped her arm around his waist and rubbed his chest with her free hand. "Relax," she spoke softly. "I'm not going to hurt you." She kissed his neck a couple times then his cheek. He still stared wide-eyed at the TV, hardly focusing on the movie. "Let me help you out," Hazel grabbed his arm and wrapped it around her. Theo took a deep breath and tried to calm down. He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing.
Halfway through the movie, Hazel felt Theo's head leaned onto hers. At first she thought it was cute. "Finally relaxed, huh," she teased, but he didn't respond. "Theo?" Then she realized he was asleep. A huge smile grew onto her face. She did her best not to giggle. She pat his chest, but he didn't respond, so she pat his face. "Theo."
"Hmm..."
"Theo!"
"Wha-?! Huh?"
"You fell asleep." She chuckled.
"Ah, shit, I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it. You had a long day. Do you just want to go to bed?"
"I guess so." He yawned. "I'm definitely tired."
"Okay, let's go to bed, then." She took the remote and turned off the movie and the TV.
She got up and reached into her bag. She pulled out a toothbrush and tooth paste.
"If you want to use the bathroom first," Theo spoke, "I'll grab you some pillows and an extra blanket. I'm sort of... a blanket hog."
She giggled at him. "Okay."
Hazel went into the bathroom and began brushing her teeth. There were little paper cups stacked next to the faucet. She filled one up and used it to rinse out her mouth. She forgot to grab her mouthwash, so she went back into the room to get it from her bag. As she walked back in, she saw Theo putting some fresh pillows and a folded up blanket on the bed. There was also a fleece pink blanket balled up on his side of the bed.
"Oh, hey," he looked at her. "Done already?"
"Almost. I forgot to get my mouthwash. I have a little mini one!" She grabbed it out of her bag and headed back to the bathroom. She filled the cap and swished it around her mouth for a minute before spitting it out into the sink. She went back into the room again. "Okay, your turn!"
Noise let out a small laugh and went into the bathroom to brush his teeth as well. Hazel fluffed up the pillows and crawled onto the bed. She got under the blanket that was on the bed instead of the one he gave to her. She felt the pink blanket that was on his side. It was incredibly soft. Theodore rinsed his mouth with water then swished a cap full of mouthwash and spit it out. He came back into the room to see Hazel nice and comfortable.
"I appreciate you bringing me an extra blanket," she smiled at him, "but I want to share a blanket with you."
"I don't mind. I only gave you the extra just in case I hog the blanket in the middle of the night." He walked up to the bed and took off his hoodie. He was wearing a yellow NTV t-shirt underneath.
"Self advertising, huh," she chuckled.
"Not really. Whenever we release merch, they give me a sample of some sort. I have a million of NTV t-shirts and hoodies." He went over to the dresser and opened one of the drawers. "I do want to find some shorts, though."
"You um... You don't have to."
"Nah, I get really warm at night. I don't want to sleep in sweatpants."
"You can sleep in your underwear if you're comfortable with it."
"I'm pretty sure I have some gym shorts around he-"
"..."
"..." Theodore was blushing. "I don't want to make you uncomfortable."
"I'll be fine." She smiled. "We'll be under the blanket, anyways."
"I think I'd be more comfortable in some shorts."
"Whatever works for you."
He quickly slipped into some soft grey shorts as he still faced the dresser. He got into bed, but Hazel stopped him before he laid down.
"Don't forget to take your other pill!"
"Shit, right! Thanks for reminding me." He chuckled. "I totally would've forgot." He opened the other bottle and swallowed the pill with a mouthful of water.
"By the way, I wanted to ask you something."
"What's up?"
What's with the pink blanket? Was that one for me?"
"Oh, no that's um... That's... Well, that's my blankie. I, uh... I can't really sleep without it."
"Aww, Theo!"
"Shush!"
"No, no, it's cute!"
"Shuuush!" He pouted and blushed.
"Don't be embarrassed! It's fine! I'm not judging you."
"Alright, alright."
"One more question."
"Hm?"
"Can we cuddle? I wanna spoon." She smiled cutely.
Theo blushed even harder. "Um... Yeah. Yeah, sure."
"I call little spoon!" She plopped on to her right side and giggled.
(Tiniest suggestive warning. Nothing bad happens but there is a small mention.)
Theo nervously clicked the lamp off and snuggled up to her. He wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned against her with his head on her neck. She put her arm on top of the one that wrapped around her and intertwined their fingers. Theo gulped and took a deep breath. Even though they were only cuddling, he found himself growing incredibly flustered... including down below. He moved his hips back and away from her. She noticed him move and picked her head up.
"Where ya goin'?"
"I, uh..." he spoke shakily.
"Get back here!" She threw her hips back at him, but jolted forward once she felt him. "Oh!"
"Sorry, I'm so sorry, I-"
She giggled. "Theo, relax. I take it as a compliment."
"Oh, my gosh, I just-"
"Theo! Calm down! Would it help if we switched and I was big spoon?"
"That... Yeah, that'd be nice."
"Come on," she flipped over and nudged him.
He rolled over, but he was still so embarrassed. He took a deep breath. Hazel snuggled up to him and played with his hair. He focused on his breathing as she gently scratched his scalp. With her other hand, she intertwined their fingers and held hands. Theodore felt his muscles relax. Before he knew it, he was zonked out. Hazel thought it was cute that he got so flustered. He was so cocky and brave when they first met, but now he was a nervous wreck. She knew it was going to take a while for him to settle, but in the meantime, she was going to help push him through it.
Eventually, Hazel had also fallen asleep and ended up rolling onto her back. She was sleeping soundly until she woke up freezing cold. Just as she was warned, The Noise was wrapped head to toe in the blanket. He was curled up in fetal position with the blanket over his ears. His pink "blankie" was even over his head. No wonder he gets so warm at night, she thought. She grabbed the extra blanket he had given her, unfolded it, and covered herself up. She let out a small groan as she snuggled up with the blanket.
Hazel woke up again around her usual time, around 5 in the morning. To her, that was "sleeping in". She looked over at Noise, who was still sleeping with his blankie over his head. She debated on waking him up, but she wasn't too keen on disturbing him. With the way the paparazzi treated him the day before, she thought he deserved to rest. She slowly crawled out of bed so she could brush her teeth, but she accidentally woke him up doing so. His eyes squinted as he moved the blanket off his head.
"Sorry," she whispered. "I didn't mean to wake you up."
"Mmmph..." He groaned. "It's okay..." He tiredly slurred his words.
"I was going to let you sleep. You seemed like you needed it."
He sat up and took a deep breath. "Yeah... I'll be fine. I can always take a nap later." He yawned and stretched. He let out a small chuckled once he saw that she used the other blanket. "I warned you that I'm a blanket hog."
She giggled. "You should've seen yourself. You were wrapped up like a burrito."
"Yeah, I've always slept like that."
"That's probably why you get so hot at night."
"I can't sleep any other way."
She booped him on the nose. "You wanna go out and get some food or somethin'?"
"Yeah, sure," he yawned again. "I could eat. I'm gonna brush my teeth, though."
"I was gonna-"
"You can go first. I can lay down a few more minutes." He smiled as he slid back down.
She chuckled softly as she headed over to the bathroom with her toothbrush, toothpaste, and this time, she remembered her mouthwash.
What does Automation Testing software do?
Automation Testing Services
Automation Testing and its software is a tool and useful resource that helps to test applications automatically without any major considerations to look into while testing. Instead of having testers manually check every feature or function, automation tools run pre-written test scripts to check if the software works as expected. These tools can simulate user actions, test various inputs, and quickly and accurately check the software's behavior.
The main goal of automation test software is to save time, reduce human error, and increase testing coverage. It is beneficial when you must run the same tests many times, like regression testing or continuous integration setups.
Key Functions of Automation Testing Software -
Automation testing software performs several tasks that help ensure software quality. It checks if the application meets business requirements, validates data processing, tests user interfaces, and monitors performance under different conditions.
These tools can work across multiple browsers, devices, and operating systems. They help catch bugs early in the development process, reducing the cost and time needed to fix them later.
Many automation tools also integrate with other systems like CI/CD pipelines, test management platforms, and reporting dashboards—making the whole testing and development process smoother.
Benefits of Using Automation Testing Software -
Automation test software helps companies speed up testing, increase accuracy, and launch products faster. It reduces the need for repetitive manual testing, freeing testers to focus on more complex tasks.
The software runs tests 24/7 if needed, offers detailed test reports, and allows quick feedback to developers. It also supports better collaboration between QA and development teams, helping improve overall product quality.
While automation helps a lot, it doesn't fully replace manual testing. QA professionals still need to plan tests, review results, and test complex scenarios that automation can't handle, as they both are essential for the process. Automation Test is best for repetitive and everyday tasks like checking login pages, payment forms, or user dashboards and analytics. It's also helpful in regression testing — where old features must be retested after certain updates or common system upgrades.
Automation Testing software is a must-have tool and essential for modern software development operations as it gives completely transparent and reliable results if opting towards it as it saves time and the efforts of checking manually. It brings speed, reliability, and efficiency to the testing process. Trusted companies like Suma Soft, IBM, Cyntexa, and Cignex offer advanced automation testing solutions that support fast delivery, better performance, and improved software quality for businesses of all sizes.
